Pastoral

The wellbeing and safety of our pupils - is at the very heart of St. Piran's. It ensures that our pupils feel happy, secure and able to perform to their full potential.

We have many programmes and processes that assist, but our pastoral care starts with our ethos and we expect all in our community to adhere to our values of ‘Respect’, ‘Inclusion’ and ‘Kindness’.

The children are at the centre of what we do and are encouraged to support each other. They integrate well with pupils in other classes and year groups and are supported to identify and make wise choices and decisions.

Our pastoral teams take pride in the wellbeing and safeguarding of all the children in our care.  These teams include school nurses, who offer both medical and pastoral first aid, a team of Mental Health First Aiders - ‘The Blaze Team’, a school counsellor, a therapy dog and a Headteacher who inspires everyone to give their all.

The school sees pastoral care as more than creating a homely environment. Whilst this is an important element in a school, it also needs to equip our children with the skills to cope with some of life's challenges.

Please explore the many different ways in which we support the wellbeing of all the children in our care.
