St Piran's Society

The St Piran's Society plays an important part in the life of the school, bringing together parents and enhancing the community spirit around us. The St Piran's Society comprises each and every parent or guardian of pupils in our school.

The Society organises a variety of fundraising activities that take place throughout the year raising funds for the school and nominated charities including quiz evenings, a Summer Ball and second-hand uniform sales.

The St Piran's Society Committee meets several times per term and is responsible for decision making and managing the finances, as well as overseeing the organisation of activities. Class representatives assist in liaising between the parents and the school to help with bringing Society's events to life.

We welcome the active involvement of parents, as Committee members, class reps, or to lead, and participate in, our events.

Book Week

The annual book week begins on 28th January and the Society will be running the Travelling Book Fair in Big School from 3:30pm each day so you and your children can purchase books. It’s always lovely to have a browse at the 200+ book titles available and every book purchased helps get free books for the school!

The Fair is manned by volunteers so if you can spare an hour to help, please do let us know. There’s a doodle poll here which will also be circulated by class reps. Do get in touch if you have any questions.

Next event: Valentine's Discos for children

Thursday 14th February

Children will have a chance to dance and celebrate the start of half term at our Valentine's discos during the school day.

Coming soon: Race Night!

Get ready to put pedal to the metal… We’ve just given the green light to our first Scalextric Night in Tippet Hall on Friday 1st March!

With live action commentary from a professional compere, a huge EIGHT LANE Scalextric track and a well stocked bar, the evening will be a great chance to unleash your inner speed demon and enjoy a few drinks with fellow parents.

The night will start with warm up circuits, then split into three race time slots/rounds: 7:30pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm. Every Driver will get to take part in 8 races and then the Top * from each time slot will go head to head in a final. There will be two types of tickets on sale – Drivers, who want to get revving (£15) and Spectators, for those who want to stay in the Pit (£5). You’ll need to book a time slot for your turn at racing, but you’re welcome to arrive, eat and drink from 7pm! Tickets will include a bottle of beer or a glass of wine and Meat and Veggie Deli boards will be available to pre-order. This event is one for the grown ups, so line up a sitter and get into pole position for a great evening!

Christmas Fair

Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Christmas Fair on Sunday 2nd December. We really hope you and your children enjoyed it. We were so happy to see so many people supporting the event. We also had lots of volunteers setting up, running and tidying away. Without all of this help it couldn’t have happened. Thank you.

We are delighted to say that the event raised just shy of £2,500!

In addition to the proceeds from the event, every purchase from the Usborne stall resulted in a contribution of books from the company. Thanks to your shopping, St Piran’s will receive £300 worth of books for the children to enjoy!

Thank you so much again and Happy Christmas!
